Images online

Images show students what the teacher is talking about. By providing the visual image to students they can develop a deeper understanding of the topic and also assists the learning of visual learners. Brooks-Young (2010, p. 77) states “Whether you call these learners visual or spatial, a significant number of students function best when they are permitted to use pictures, photos, drawings, and other graphics to organize and share information.” An activity that can be incorporated into the classroom is using pictures as writing prompts. This is accomplished by selecting a visually rich photo and having the students write about it.

As you can see, the images and topics are limitless and can centre on any unit of work.
